The opening prayer opportunity took place outside and used
the flags and emblems brought by the representatives as a focus for worship
based on Celtic spirituality.
The flags and emblems were displayed in the meeting room throughout the Consultation.

Rev Naatan Haamer from Estonia led prayers in the meeting room, the representatives standing in a circle. He taught an Estonian religious folk song and invited the participants to offer a prayer in their own language while the other members of the group tried to repeat the words.

The representatives gathered again under the same tree in the grounds of All Hallows College and offered a blessing from their own tradition, after which the Irish group presented everyone with a traditional St Bridget's Cross.
