Olá!
A new letter to give to you the latest news about our Lisbon Consultation.
Guest of Ecumenical Patriarch, the Committee, met
in Istanbul, last days of September. There, we planed the theme and the
programme. In Lisbon, we will be building bridges, growing hope. This will
be the theme of the 9th ENHCC Consultation: “BUILDING BRIDGES, GROWING
HOPE”. I’m including a copy of the provisional programme. |

We will be meeting at the Mother House of a Portuguese Congregation of
Sisters who is all over the world offering health care to the poor: the
Congregação das Franciscanas Hospitaleiras da Imaculada Conceição. From
their house, we see the sea. There are beautiful gardens, a cascade, a
hermitage and an angel. [Pictures] All this
calls us to build bridges and to grow hope. Together we will try to find
ways to meet this challenge. The house is near Lisbon (25 minutes from the
airport). It’s not far.

With this letter you receive the registration form. Please return this by
the end of February with the payment. We have a small amount of money
available to sponsor participants who need financial help. If you really
need it, please tell us and when we know all the needs, we’ll be in touch
with you.
We ask you too, to send the description of health care chaplaincy in your
country. Even if you have written it before, please update it. So we can
learn about one another and build bridges amongst ourselves. For the same
reason, can you also introduce yourself and your work? It well be nice.
If it is difficult for you to write it in English, don’t worry, we can help.
We also may be able to translate from Español, Français and Deutch. With
this information, we plan to print a booklet to give to all representatives.
If it’s possible, send your text by e-mail to
Lisbon@eurochaplains.org. This
information, if you agree, well also appears on the
Network Website. There, you can find more information about Lisbon
Consultation.
If we can help you, or if you have any questions,
please get in touch. With the special support of Comissão Nacional de
Pastoral da Saúde (National Pastoral Health Care Commission of Portugal) we
will try to answer you.
We will meet at Lisbon and we will hear
Fado, the
typical song of the Capital of Portugal. You will also have the pleasure of
tasting real and old Port Wine, produced on the banks of Douro, the river
that flows from Spain to the sea, at Porto.
In centuries gone by, Portugal brought new worlds to the world. It’s
from Portugal I have the pleasure to invite you to come to build bridges and
grow hope, bringing new worlds to your world, discovering new ways to travel
together as the European Network of Health and Care Chaplaincy.
I'll be waiting to greet you!

The European Network
of Health Care Chaplaincy
9th Consultation, Lisbon 2006
June 28, 2005
OLÁ!
With this word, the Portuguese way of greeting friends, I want to invite you
all to participate in the 9th Consultation of ENHCC, in Lisbon, from
17th to 21st May 2006.
After our meeting at Dublin, in the Emerald Isle, we will meet
again at Lisbon, in the Land of Sun. New and significant steps are
approaching in our journey towards the enhancement of the existential,
spiritual and religious dimensions in health care.
It was from Lisbon, that Europeans departed, giving new worlds to the world,
as we say in our language. I invite you to Lisbon, so that we can discover
together new ways for the next step of our journeys in health care.
Here, in Portugal, we will do all we can to help you come and participate.
If you have any questions, the best way to contact the Organisers of the
ENHCC 9th Consultation is to use this e-mail address:
